Who Am I?
I started quilting in 2009 because my mother has been making quilt tops for 36 years and wanted me to buy a machine. I’ve always had an eye for detail and loved working with my hands. Being a quilter allows me to be creative every day. I love being able to do something that brings such joy to people. I quilt quilts for my family as well as customers. Just a few short years later I added a second machine to try and keep up all of your amazing quilts! Whether it be a gift for my grandchild, or a quilt for a customer, it is so rewarding to see their faces light up when they see their quilts. I am a 63 year old man with old fashioned values. I’ve worked hard all my life and I always “give it my all”! I have a beautiful wife and we’ve been married for 37 years. I also have three beautiful daughters, and 6 soon to be 7 amazing grandchildren! Nothing means more to me than family. When I’m not quilting, I love camping with my family (and sometimes alone) and being outdoors.
Karen Hurd
Karen Hurd was one of the most important member of the Quilting by David team! Without Karen, Quilting by David would not have been possible! (He would still be looking for his keys). Before creating this business with David, Karen was a nurse. She loves gardening, cats, collecting treasures, and (most of all) her family!
She is currently enjoying her retirement after many years of helping to grow the business.
Sarah Cagg
Hi, I’m Sarah Cagg! I’m a long-arm quilter from Missouri, a wife, and a proud mom to two energetic boys, ages 6 and 7. Creativity has always been a big part of my life, and quilting has become my favorite way to express it.
I started my longarm quilting journey nearly two years ago, learning from the best—my dad, the owner of Quilting by David. His passion for the craft has been truly inspiring, and I feel lucky to continue the tradition.
Every quilt tells a story, and I love bringing those stories to life with stitches, texture, and design. Whether it’s finishing a cherished heirloom or adding a personal touch to a new creation, I put my heart into every piece.
When I’m not at my quilting machine, you can find me crafting, spending time with my family, or finding new ways to make life a little more colorful. Thanks for stopping by—I’d love to help bring your quilting vision to life!
