Who Am I?
I started quilting in 2009 because my mother has been making quilt tops for 36 years and wanted me to buy a machine. I’ve always had an eye for detail and loved working with my hands. Being a quilter allows me to be creative every day. I love being able to do something that brings such joy to people. I quilt quilts for my family as well as customers. Whether it be a gift for my grandchild, or a quilt for a customer, it is so rewarding to see their faces light up when they see their quilts. I am a 58 year old man with old fashioned values. I’ve worked hard all my life and I always “give it my all”! I have a beautiful wife and we’ve been married for nearly 30 years. I also have three beautiful daughters, and 4 amazing grandchildren. (Sorry Benjamin and Eric!!) Nothing means more to me than family. When I’m not quilting, I love camping with my family (and sometimes alone) and being outdoors. I also have a 500 gallon salt water fish tank filled with amazing sea creatures, if you bring me a quilt, don’t forget to see it!
Karen Hurd is the most important member of the Quilting by David team! Without Karen, Quilting by David would not be possible! (He would still be looking for his keys). Before creating this business with David, Karen was a nurse. She loves gardening, cats, collecting treasures, and (most of all) her family!
